This piece was inspired by the everyday lifestyle of a young Black boy who finds joy in expressing himself through fashion, confidence, and the energy of the streets he calls home. Whether he's exploring his neighborhood, spending time with friends, or simply enjoying the freedom of being young, his style becomes an extension of his personality and identity. The flowers growing throughout the piece represent his colorful imagination, bright spirit, and the positivity he carries with him. They symbolize creativity, growth, and the beauty that exists beneath the surface qualities that often go unnoticed when people make quick assumptions based on appearance. I wanted the flowers to reflect the richness of his inner world and the hope, dreams, and potential that continue to bloom as he grows.
