This piece was inspired by the passing of my grandpa. What began as a moment of sadness, grief, and reflection slowly transformed into a celebration of resilience, growth, and unexpected beauty. I wanted to move away from the typical portrayal of death as simply a skeleton with a skull. Instead, I chose to depict a skeleton blooming with flowers symbolizing the love, kindness, memories, and beauty that were planted and nurtured within him throughout his life. In many ways, this speaks to all of us. Beneath our differences, we all share the same human form, and what truly remains is what we cultivate and leave behind. To me, death is not only an ending it can be just as beautiful as living.
